I'm not related, but thought you may know info to help with my research. I recently purchased a large daguerrotype of a woman perportedly to be a Mrs. Bobbit (1-T) circa 1850, living at that time near Asheville in Henderson Co. N. Carolina. Any advice?

Description: Mary Elizabeth "Polly" Bobbitt was the daughter of William and Elizabeth James Bobbitt.   She married Milton Boyd 5 July 1832 in Morgan Co., IL.   She died 4 April 1857 in Niantic Twp., Macon Co., IL and is buried in Long Point Cemetery there. The photo was posed this way so that it didn't show that William's legs had been amputated at the knees, the result of an accident with a thrashing machine.
