Henry Bobbitt (Colorized)

Description: Many of you have probably seen the 'uncolorized' photo of Henry somewhere on the Internet.   It's on several different sites.  This photo has been colorized.   More info on the colorization process coming at a later date.  I'm still trying to find the name of the car and trying to make out the background seen through the car windows.  Date Taken: Henry died in June, 1930.   He was 78.   Date of photo unknown.  Place Taken: Original Unknown but probably in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky.  Owner: Handed down from my grandmother, Mary Cassandra Byers Bobbitt via my father Leyburn Kenneth Bobbitt.  Posted By: Keith Bobbitt

Description: Photo taken in the Bobbitt's store.   Miles (18 Oct 1843 to 27 Jan 1919) served as a private in Company E, 1st North Carolina Cavalry for the duration of the Civil War.   Joseph (1 Aug 1879 to 11 Dec 1961) is his son.

Description: Rosella was a daughter to Henry Bobbitt.   My memory is telling me she was born in Indiana. Description: The James Henderson Bobbitt house, northeast of Somerset, KY. The family lived here until 1920/1921 when they moved to Parke County, IN. Left to right in photo: Ray Francis, James H. holding Dan or Don (twins), Telitha holding other twin, (Icel) Jewel, (Alice) Pauline, Jessie Mable.

This house is still there, and is occupied by the widow of a man who was my Mother's "boyfriend" when she was about ten years old.   It is just a bit north of the Bobbitt Cemetery, Northeast of Somerset.  Date Taken: 1915/1916.  Place Taken: Pulaski County, KY.  Posted By: Arlene Hansen
