James Bobbitt was a son of John and Nancy (Nuckolls) Bobbitt. James married his first cousin once removed, Margaret Bobbitt the daughter of Randolph and Rachel(Phillips) Bobbitt. Both James and Margaret were born in Grayson County, Virginia. James served in the war between the states and was killed in action.

Randolph Bobbitt son of William and Nancy Clifton Bobbitt was born in Grayson County, Virginia. He is listed here with his third (maybe fourth) wife. I think there is a mistake in the record of James W. Bobbitt in that he was born in Virginia.
The 1860 census records recorded here are from selections and does not include all the Bobbitt families living in Missouri in 1860. One can readily see that the many descendants of these families will establish and contribute much to the growth of the state of Missouri.
In the 1870's more Bobbitt families from Virginia moved into Missouri and then on to Nebraska and Texas.
