John was a son of William and Susannah Bobbitt. He had two sons but I have not been able to locate them in the records.  One record states that the sons left home early and settled in Indiana. Other records say the sons went to Alabama with other family members.

The families moved frequently during the time they lived in South Carolina. Stephen Bobbitt was the last child and youngest son of William and Susannah Bobbitt. Stephen Bobbitt is believed to have died in the war between the states. The 1860 census lists only the females of the family of Stephen Bobbitt as being the only Bobbitts living in South Carolina in 1860.

Descendants of William and Susannah Bobbitt moved to many sections of the country, but can be located in records in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Illinois.
