Matilda (Denny) Bobbitt was the widow of James Bobbett, They were married on May 27, 1840 in Rutherford County. James M. Bobbitt was a son of Lewis Bobbitt. Robert A. Denny, brother of Matilda, married Clementine C. Bobbitt in Rutherford County.

Elizabeth (Potts) (Haynes) Bobbitt was the widow of Thomas Bobbitt. They were married in Rutherford County on June 28, 1842. Elizabeth was the daughter of Andrew J. and Lively (Bobbitt) Haynes. She first married Henry Potts and had one son named William T. Potts. She secondly married the widowed Thomas Bobbitt who had one son named James Harris Bobbett. Thomas died in 1849. We believe that his first wife was named Sarah Palmer, and that Thomas was a son of Lewis Bobbitt of Warren County, North Carolina.
