SUSSEX COUNTY

Sussex County was formed in 1753 from Surry County. It is one of the cradle counties of the Bobbitt family. Members of the family have lived in this county from before its formation too the present day.

This family is said to have been closely related to the Bobbitt family. I have not been able to establish the connections other than one son, Green Branch Bobbitt, married Martha Sledge.
