My name is Betty Bobbitt, my father was Hubert
Bobbitt and he was born in Wake Forest North Carolina around 80+
years ago. He had a brother, Clyde, and a sister, Lena, (amongst
other siblings, who I never met) but he rarely talked about his
family and died before I had a chance to drill him! In 1964 my son
was born with a double uvula, which I was told is common among
Cherokee Indians. When I asked my father he said, yes, the family
had Indian blood, but that was all I ever got out of him. As my
parents are both dead, I would dearly love to know more about my
family, especially my paternal grandparents. I think, after looking
at your site, that I may be related to William. There are several
Bobbitts in Melbourne too, I contacted them in the 80's, and they
told me we had to be related, that two brothers had left England
years ago, one for America, the other for Australia and that the
American Bobbitt had been a sheriff in North Carolina. Dad once told
me that there had been a Bobbitt, North Carolina. Near Wake Forest
and no longer a town. I'm longing to know the truth about my
heritage. I'm new to the net so my search is in its infancy. Any
light that you could shine on the subject would be greatly
appreciated.
I was born in New York, Feb 7th, 1939 and have one brother, Eric,
who lives in New Jersey and knows less than I do.
Cheers and thanks for your time, Betty B.
