Bobbitt Family DNA Project Donor Pages

The following Bobbitt  males have signed up with Family Tree DNA and the THE British Isles 2  PROJECT At Family Tree DNA .   There are other Bobbitt families that have been tested at different facilities who have chosen to keep their results private.

 

1.  Chird Bobbitt Y-DNA12 test.
"I mailed my kit in today, December 19, 2007" - - Chird Bobbitt
January 30, 2008 - "Got an initial report.  No direct links to Bobbitt showed in the initial database, I did find some distant Bobbitt links at Ysearch.   I have added my results to http://www.Ysearch.org/, the FTDNA-sponsored public database." - - Chird Bobbitt

2.  Keith Bobbitt Y-DNA12 test.
I mailed my kit in today, December 22, 2007 - - Keith Bobbitt
06 Feb 2008 - 12 marker test results received showed no matches to anyone on Ysearch.  Additional 13 markers (not shown here) were emailed 14 March 2008.  I was contacted by a person that saw my alleles who said we were related because our alleles did match and our surname was the same.

3.  Joseph Rosser Bobbitt III Y-DNA12 test.

What does this tell us?

1.  We have much more research to do.
2.  We must reinvestigate our paper trails.
3.  We must expand our family DNA databases.  Many more Bobbitt males need to be tested and results shared.

4.  If there has been an adoption anywhere along the male Bobbitt descendancy line, known or unknown, alleles will not match.
5.  There is more than 1 immigrant ancestor in the male Bobbitt line in America and these ancestors are in no way related.
6.  There are multiple male Bobbitt lines in America that are not related.
