CAPTAIN JAMES TOLLIVER BOBBITT 1836 - 1929
CSA
A loyal member of the Confederate cause, James Tolliver Bobbitt was so disgusted with the outcome of the War between the States that he left the South as soon as he was discharged from the Confederate Army
In time he migrated to Texas where numerous other Confederate soldiers had migrated. The old cronies enjoyed many hours talking about their service in the Army and their appreciation of the Southern cause.
When Captain James Bobbitt died, he had preserved his Confederate uniform and left word that he was to be buried in his uniform. His wishes were carried out.
The picture above was taken in Canyon City, Texas, where Captain James Bobbitt dressed in his Confederate uniform for the ocassion.
