After the death of Julia Ann Bobbitt, Miles Bobbitt gave money and land to several of his children. On August 27, 1867 he gave 30 acres of land to William Henry Bobbitt, 230 acres of land to Miles Bobbitt, and on January 1, 1868, sold to his son-in-law James A. Welch, 150 acres of land at a greatly reduced cost.

In 1869 Alpheus married Nancy Griffin and had one son, named Charles Peter Bobbitt. Sometime between 1870 and 1875 Alpheus and his family moved to Franklin County and lived near Franklinton.

Alpheus Bobbitt was born on October 6, 1817 and died in Franklin County on November 6, 1898, at the age of 81. Nancy (Griffin) Bobbitt was born on December 9, 1842 and died on February 17, 1916. Alpheus and Nancy Bobbitt are buried at Perry's Chapel Baptist Church near Franklinton.

William Bobbitt from Wales came to the Virginia colony in 1673, and lived in what was Charles City County, Virginia. His son, William Bobbitt, Jr. lived in Prince George County, Virginia. Lewis Bobbitt Sr., left Virginia and moved to North Carolina in 1753, where his descendants have lived to the present time.
