WARREN COUNTY CENSUS OF 1800

Mary Bobbitt:

1 male under 10 (1790-1800)     2 females 16 - 26 (1774-1784)

Mary Bobbitt was the widow of Miles Bobbitt. Her maiden name was Powell. Mary and Miles were married in 1761 when Mary was probably only 16 years of age. Mary died in Warren County in 1824. Miles Bobbitt was a son of Lewis and Elizabeth (Moore) Bobbitt. He was born in 1731 in Prince George County, Virginia. Miles died in 1794. The family lived on one hundred and twenty acres of land on the north side of Big Fishing Creek. Their known sons were, John, Jacob, Jubilee, Joshua and William.

Lewis Bobbitt was a son of Lewis and Elizabeth (Moore) Bobbitt. He was born in 1743 in Amelia County, Virginia. Lewis Bobbitt married Mary Person in 1773. He died in 1818 in Warren County. Lewis left a will in which he named all of his children.

Joshua Bobbitt:

Joshua Bobbitt was a son of Miles and Mary (Powell) Bobbitt. He was born in 1765. Joshua married Martha Duke a daughter of Mathew Duke. They had one daughter named Dicey Bobbitt born in 1782. In 1806 Joshua and Martha were legally divorced. Joshua  later married Patsy Haithcock. Randolph Bobbitt:

Randolph Bobbitt was a son of John Richard and Amy (Alston) Bobbitt. He was born in 1755 and died in 1804. Randolph Bobbitt married Elizabeth Harris in 1775. Elizabeth was a daughter of Charles and Rachel Harris. The sons of Randolph Bobbitt were John Richard, Lewis Charles, Richard John, and Frederick Harris Bobbitt. Randolph was a brother to Drury, Stephen, John, Alston, Isham, and William Bobbitt. Randolph was the second of these brothers to be deceased before 1810. Alston preceded Randolph in death. The family was a key family in Warren County history.
