In this next deed Miles Bobbitt father of Samuel Bobbitt is giving a slave to Samuel for one dollar so that the deed may be recorded.

"December 18, 1858, Samuel Bobbitt and his wife, Martha A. Bobbitt, Thomas A. Montgomery and his wife, Sarah H., and William A. Dowtain, heirs at law of the late Anthony Dowtain, deceased, to Samuel W. Dowtain all of Warren County, $1,200.00 for 460 acres of land, the dower land of Mrs. Mary H.
