Terry Bobbitt and David Bobbitt were born in the same year, 1814. They were close friends and lived their entire lives in Pittsylvania County. David was a first cousin to Terry. We know that Terry Bobbitt was a son of Charles and Clary Bobbitt. We will probably never know exactly who were the parents of David Bobbitt but the fact that he named one of his sons "Lovelace Bobbitt" places him as a son of Lewis and Sarah (Lovelace) Bobbitt.

We know very little about Randolph Bobbitt Junior. He married a woman by the name of Tabitha and her maiden name may have been "Lovelace". She was a widow by the 1830 census and was never listed with more than two daughters who apparently never married. Tabatha was born in 1787, Sully was born in 1820 and Mary was born in 1830.

Randolph Bobbitt was born in 1752 and died in 1835. Fanny, his wife, was born in 1760 and died in 1843. We believe that both are buried in the Berger Cemetery near the Randolph Bobbitt plantation.

Descendants of Lewis and Thomas Bobbitt moved to Clinton County Ohio. Some descendants of Charles Bobbitt went first to Ohio then to Greenup County, Kentucky. Descendants of the daughters remained in Virginia.

There may have been other daughters in the family but if so, we have not found them mentioned in any of the records.
