Clifton Bobbitt, was born December 1826 and was the first son and child of Charles and Sarah Bobbitt. Before 1850 Clifton had left Grayson County to visit with relatives in Kentucky and then migrated with these relatives to Missouri.  Clifton married a Mary A. in Missouri and by the census of 1900 was living in Yolo County, California.

Calvin Bobbitt, was mentioned by B. F. Nuckols in his "Pioneer Settlers of Grayson County, Virginia." The census records show that Calvin was born in 1828 but it is more likely 1827. At the age of 30, Calvin married, Matilda J. Whitaker, on January 29, 1857 in Surry County, North Carolina. Calvin and Matilda had two daughters, Verdurina B. Bobbitt and Louvisa A. Bobbitt. By 1860 Calvin was dead and his wife lived as a widow in Surry County for many years.

Alexander Bobbitt, was born in 1829. He married Jane Patton in 1853 and reared his family in Carroll County, Virginia. Alexander Bobbitt served in Company G of the 30th North Carolina Infantry in the army of the Confederate States. After the war he returned to Carroll County and lived his entire life in Virginia.

Andrew Bobbitt, became a carpenter, and worked mostly in Surry County, North Carolina. He did not marry until he was 39 years of age. He married Elvira Chapman on January 14, 1872 in Surry County. Elvira was 17 years of age and we do not think that they had any children. Andrew served in Company A of the 28th North Carolina Infantry of the army of Confederate States.

Martin Bobbitt, was named after his uncle who moved to Missouri. Martin died young at the age of 24 and we do not believe that he had married before his death.

George Bobbitt, was born in 1839 and served in the war between the states.  He enlisted on May 4, 1862 at Narrows Virginia for the duration of the war.  He served as a private in Company E of the 45th Virginia Infantry, along with his brother Joseph. George was married and had several children. He lived his entire life in Virginia.

Samuel Bobbitt, was born in August of 1843. He married Sarah Jarvis on November 5, 1865 in Surry County, North Carolina. Samuel served in the army of the Confederate States in Company E of the 45th Virginia Infantry. He enlisted on May 29, 1861 at Wytheville. At the age of 66 he married Minnie Shouse in 1902.

Joseph Bobbitt, was born in 1844. He married Edith Nichols on December 16, 1865 in Alegenhy County, North Carolina. Edith was born in Sparta County, North Carolina. Joseph and Edith had
