Lacy Bobbitt a soldier of the War of 1812 will be memorialized by a monument provided by the Veterans Administration in 1984. The monument will be placed by the grave of his father, John Bobbitt who was a Sergeant and Lieutenant in the War of the American Revolution. The cemetery is called the North End Cemetery and is located in the township of Hillsville, Virginia.

Approximately twenty five Bobbitt males served in the War of 1812.
