Here are some interesting deeds recorded just after Bute County was formed which tell us what members of the family were living in that section after 1764 which was changed to Bute County.
October 15, 1764....Welling Jones of Halifax County and Lucy Jones sell to Clement Arledge. 100 acres where William Bobbitt formerly lived on the south side of Bufaloe Branch.
December 18, 1764 ... John Smart and wife Frances Smart sell to Francis Capps, 80 acres on a branch at a line of Bobbitts, joining Richard Bennett, down Bufaloe Branch to a fork and up the main branch.
November 20, 1764...Administrator's bond in the estate of Robert Moore, deceased. Elizabeth Moore, administrix. Securities, William Bobbitt, Richard Hardy.
December 24, 1764...Account of sales and division of the estate of Robert Moore deceased. Elizabeth Moore, admix. Mentioned at the sale were: Mrs. Moore, Nimrod Williams, Christopher Roberson, Lewis Bobbitt, Lewis Bobbitt Jr., Miles Bobbitt, William Bobbitt, William Powell, John Green, Peter Green, Joseph Duke.
October 21, 1765....Lewis Bobbitt to Lewis Bobbitt Jr., both of Bute County, 167 acres on the south side of Reedy Creek. Witnesses: William Person, Jr., Hannah Duke.
July 16, 1767.......John Bobbitt Senior, to Peter Smart for 295 acres on Reedy Branch and Rocky Branch, adjoining Joseph Green, Daniel and Frances Acock, exclusive of 2 acres about the Baptist Meeting House and spring. Witnesses: Joseph Green, Drury Bobbitt.
May 14, 1771......Richard Maddrey to Lewis Bobbitt Jr. 160 acres on both sides of a branch of Possum Quarter, adjoining Mathew Duke, Joseph Duke, John Kiker, Richard Maddrey, Lewis Bobbitt.
October 5, 1771.....John Dinkins Taylor to Miles Bobbitt, 100 acres on the north side of Great Fishing Creek to ridge and down the Great Branch, adjoining John Green,
