John Bobbitt Junior married a widow by the name of Sarah Williams. Her maiden name was Jones. Sarah had one son by her first marriage, John Williams. The Jones family lived in that section of Bute County which later became Franklin County.

John and Sarah Bobbitt had two sons, Claiborn Bobbitt and Archibald Bobbitt. They had one daughter who married Drury Bridges, and they had a daughter named Katherine Bridges. Their youngest son, Archibald Bobbitt, died young, sometime between 1792 and 1800.
