After the appraisement of the estate of John Bobbitt and the approval of the executors, Isham D. Bobbitt and William G. Bobbitt, a sale was held on June 2, 1856. Members of the family who made purchases at the sale were: Emsley C. Bobbitt, John W. Bobbitt, William G. Bobbitt, Isham D. Bobbitt and Jefferson Bobbitt. At this sale was the first mention of Emsley C. Bobbitt and proves that he was living in 1856. Jefferson Bobbitt was Willis J. Bobbitt.
The 1850 census of Christian County Kentucky listed only two Bobbitt families, others were listed in Hopkins County.

The brothers of John Bobbitt had moved to Illinois and to Missouri. The family that remained in Christian and Hopkins Counties were descendants of John and Hester (Boney) Bobbitt.
By the year of 1900 none of the descendants of this family had any knowledge of Isham and Elizabeth Bobbitt. Many of the descendants scattered throughout Kentucky, Illinois, and Indiana.
In the 1900 census Mattie M. Bobbitt, born April 1858 was living with her son-in-law, J. W. Wilson of Hopkinsville. Ewen Bobbitt, born February 1877 was living in Christian County. Emsley C. Bobbitt who was born in 1817 and was 82 years of age, was living with his son-in-law, Harvey R. Bowland in Hopkins County. William G. Bobbitt died during the war between the states.
