MORGAN COUNTY, ILLINOIS 1830 CENSUS:

In 1830, Isham and Elizabeth Bobbitt were living in the home of John and Nancy (Bobbitt) Chrisman. In 1836, Isham Bobbitt died and was buried in Morgan County. In the 1840 census, Stephen and Barbara Bobbitt were living in Pike County, Illinois.

By the 1840 census, Stephen and Barbara had lost two daughters, who died young, and two of their daughters had married. The family had six sons and six daughters. The children who lived to maturity were:

The children were born between 1815 and 1839. James Garfield Bobbitt was the first child to be born in Illinois.
