November 8, 1725 - Bertie County, North Carolina

"John Bobbitt and wife Sarah, to Zekiah Messee, on this day, for ten pounds, for 300 acres of land on the west side of the Oconteechgy Swamp, adjacent to Robert Long ....."

September 28, 1728 - Prince George County, Virginia

"337 acres of land granted to Richard Jones by patent, a corner of which borders on the land of Lewis Bobbitt."

January 22, 1731 - Bristol Parish, Prince George County, Virginia

"Miles Bobbitt, son of Lewis and Elizabeth Bobbitt, born on January 22, 1731, baptised April 23, 1732."

November 6, 1736 - Bertie Precinct, North Carolina

"The will of John Bobbitt of Chowan was probated on this date. John mentions in his will, his sons, William Bobbitt and Thomas Bobbitt. Three daughters, Frances, Mary, and Amey."

November 15, 1736 - Bristol Parish, Prince George County, Virginia.

"At a vestry meeting held at the Ferry Chappel it was decided to pay William Bobbitt Senior, 100 shillings for burying John Delahany." (Page 84 of the Parish Register)

September 1, 1737 - Hanover County, Virginia

"King George II grants unto Randolph Bobbitt, 400 acres of land in Hanover County Virginia, for 40 shillings. Land beginning at Price's corner on both sides of Foster's Creek along Moreonan's line." (Patent Virginia State Archives)

The children of William Bobbitt from Wales had to be born between the years of 1673 and 1703 and were likely all born before 1693. We can concern ourselves only with the names of males as females were rarely mentioned in the records.

Before October 26, 1673 there are no records in the Virginia or North Carolina colonies of the Bobbitt family. Once the family is recorded in 1673 we have a number of records that increases in number as the family grows and moves from place to place in the colonies.
