Oct. 21, 1718 - John Green of Chowan Precinct (North Carolina) to John Bobbitt of the same, planter, on October 21, 1718, for the love and affection I bear my brother-in-law 100 acres on the north side of Morattock (now Roanoke) river on the Camion meadows, joining the Shokeko meadow and the said Green. Witnesses: Robert Hicks, John Nairne. Registered Feb. 27, 1718.

This is the first mention of a Bobbitt in North Carolina in any of the records. John Bobbitt married Sarah Green who was a sister of Mary Green the wife of William Bobbitt Junior of Prince George County, Va.

Mar. 1, 1719 - we do give and grant to John Bobbitt a tract of land containing 600 acres in Chowan precinct lying on the North side of Murattock river...west side of the Ocontchy swamp .... Chowan Precinct Book 81176 File 762. North Carolina records.

Nov. 15, 1736 - At a vestry held at the "Ferry Chapple", November 15, 1736, to William Bobbitt Senior for buring John Delahany, 100 pounds. (Page 84, Vestry book and register for Bristol Parish in Virginia.)

William Bobbitt our immigrant ancestor died in 1702. William Bobbitt Senior, mentioned here is his son. The fact that he is called "Senior" means that there is another William Bobbitt present in the same household.

Sep. 1, 1737 - King George II grants unto Randolph Bobbitt, 400 acres of land in Hanover County, Virginia, for 40 shillings. Land beginning at Price's corner on both sides of Foster's Creek along Moreonan's line. (Virginia State Archives, Hanover County Records.)
