Mar. 1781 - Randolph Bobbitt, producing a commission appointing him Ensign in the Militia of this county took the oath prescribed by law. (Pittsylvania County, Virginia records, Book 4, page 359.)

1782 Tax lists of Bobbitt family members in Virginia.   

Randolph Bobbitt,     4 white souls..... Pittsylvania County 

John Bobbitt,           6 white souls and 1 black, Pittsylvania Co. 

William Bobbitt,       1 tithable, 6 slaves, 5 horses, from Montgomery County, Virginia. 

James Bobbitt,         1 tithable, no slaves, 3 horses, ten cows, Montgomery County, Virginia.

May. 1782 - Randolph Bobbitt is appointed first, and Bowker Smith, second Lieutenants to Captain Robert Daltons Company of the Militia. (Pittsylvania County, Virginia records in book 4, page 400.)

Mar. 11, 1782 - William Bobbitt, survey for him made by virtue of a land grant Numbered 9.981 of 1000 acres on Pine Creek, and another on Big Snake Creek. (Montgomery County, Virginia records, Book C. page 165.)

Dec. 7, 1782 - James Bobbitt, first surveys of land in Montgomery County was a grantee of 150 acres on Big Island branch of New River This land is in present day Carroll Co.

1783 - Thomas Bobbitt is listed in 1850 census of Pittsylvania County, as age 67 born 1783. Thomas fought in the war of 1812 and married Mildred Dalton. Thomas was a son of Randolph Bobbitt. Descendants moved to Ohio and Kentucky.

Sep. 16, 1783 - To John Babbitt from George Peek, 100 acres of land on Little Hungry Camp branch of the Pigg River. (Recorded in Pittsylvania County book 7, page 114-115.)

1785 Tax lists, John Bobbitt, Pittsylvania County, 7 white souls, 1 dwelling, 3 other buildings. Note that in 1782 John had 6 white souls. In 1785 John is listing 7 white souls, which is confirmed by census records of Greenbrier County that his son John Bobbitt Junior was born in 1785.

Jun. 20, 1785 - James Bobbitt from John Bobbitt, John Bobbitt of Pittsylvania County to his son, James Bobbitt of Grayson County, 100 acres in Pittsylvania County on Hungry Camp branch.

Dec. 12, 1785 - Marriage of Humphrey Bobbitt and Lucy George two freed slaves. Campbell County records. Some Bobbitt family members of this county were Quakers.
