Virginia records were greatly damaged by several court house fires and by the wars of 1812 and the war between the states. The census records of 1790 and 1800 are missing entirely for the state of Virginia and many of the counties from the census of 1810 are missing. There are numerous tax lists still in good condition. Below are records taken from various 1810 tax lists.

Mar. 30, 1810 - Robert Bobbitt, Grayson County, 1 tithable, 2 horses

Mar. 30, 1810 - William Bobbitt, Grayson County, 1 tithable, 2 slaves, 2 horses.

Mar. 30, 1810 - James Bobbitt, Grayson County, 1 tithable, 3 horses

Mar. 28, 1810 - John Bobbitt, Grayson County, 1 tithable

Mar. 27, 1810 - Caleb Bobbitt, Grayson County, 1 tithable

Mar. 27, 1810 - William Bobbitt Junior, Grayson County, 1 tithable

1810 - Charles Bobbitt living with Richard Bobbitt Senior Pigg River District, Pittsylvania County, 2 tithables, 3 slaves.

1810 - Randolph Bobbitt, Pittsylvania County, 1 tithable.

This is a nearly complete list of Bobbitt names in the early records of Virginia and some of the early records of North Carolina. Bobbitt families who descended from William and Joanna Bobbitt in 1673 had not ventured far from their point of origin by the year of 1800.
